Cyberpunk 2077 additional contents get delayed
Even though it's become one of the biggest launches in the story of video games, Cyberpunk 2077 has arrived accompanied by a lot of concerns and complaints due to the current state of the game. Its performance on consoles, especially on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One leaves a lot to be desired and it's quite far from what the players expected. If you add the fact that there is not a specific version of Cyberpunk 2077 for next-gen consoles and you have to play the game through backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, you end with a huge problem in your hands. Cyberpunk 2077 is suffering from bugs that affect even its PC version and even though CD Projekt Red has been quite busy solving them since the game was released, there is still a lot of work to do. This situation has caused a huge concern at all levels and CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwiński has addressed the matter in a video in which he tries to explain the reasons that have led to this.
He apologizes and recognizes that they underestimated the task of "wanting to make the game look epic on PCs and then adjusting it to consoles - especially old gens". It's been proven that the process needed far more time than they invested, even though they made progress on that matter in the last few weeks of development. Leaving aside the question about if they should have released Cyberpunk 2077 or not in its current state, whose answer should be more than obvious to a majority of console players, there is the question about how do they plan to fix it. Iwiński sheds some light on that matter by revealing Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap for 2021.

As you can see in the picture above, CD Projekt Red will be focusing on bug fixing and performance enhancement across all platforms throughout the year. The first patch should arrive about ten days from now but no details have been provided about its content. The developers seem to be committed to fixing their game as soon as possible but they will undoubtedly have to pay a price for it. In this case, the additional content that was meant to be available soon after the release of Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be delayed until the problems have been addressed properly.
Given the current situation of Cyberpunk 2077, the path chosen by CD Projekt Red seems to be the more logical, but it is yet to be seen how the players will receive it.
