Conquer Valheim's most challenging biome in the newest update

Valheim is an open-world survival and sandbox video game by the Swedish developer Iron Gate Studio and published by Coffee Stain Studios. Since its early access release, Valheim has achieved both critical and commercial success, being praised as a "rare exception" of a refined early access game. It had sold over ten million copies and was one of the most played games on Steam.

Valheim is a game about exploring a huge fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology and Viking culture. Valheim takes place in a world where slain Vikings go to prove themselves fit for the halls of Valhalla. You start your adventure at the relatively peaceful center of Valheim. The further from the center you travel, the more challenging the world becomes. Led only by their instincts and occasional hints from a raven, the player must prepare to fight the sworn enemies of Odin himself.

The Ashlands is a molten hellscape biome that takes the form of a crescent-shaped island in the southernmost part of the world. Thus, it must be reached by ship. A fiery realm, the terrain changes the more inland one travels, with central parts taken up by lava. The undead army of Charred makes up the population among other creatures. The Ashlands follows the Mistlands progression-wise.

The Ashlands Update is currently out right now on the Public Test version of Valheim. The developers warn players to remember to make backups of their worlds and characters because the update may be unstable. And players should keep in mind that this is still the Public Test version, and that there will possibly be several patches to fix bugs and improve the balance of the game before this update is released to the Live version of the game.
