Concord ditches battle pass in favour of free updates

Firewalk Studios has a lot to say regarding the competitive FPS multiplayer genre. The studio's upcoming title has left no one indifferent with its original gameplay mechanics and unique approach to the genre, which makes Concord quite different from its competitors. The latest beta event gave players the opportunity to try the game for free and the overall reception of the community has been positive. However, Concord is not a game for everyone, especially not for those looking for an experience very similar to what other titles in the genre already offer.

Concord it's not only different in its gameplay mechanics. Firewalk Studios has recently talked about the post-launch content and the way players will be able to access cosmetic items and other boons in the game.

Just play and don't worry

According to the studio, Concord will not have a battle pass system full of tiers that you have to unlock in order to get specific rewards. Instead of that, you just need to focus on playing the game and having fun.

“When Concord launches, we’ll have hundreds of items to customize your Freegunners, which you can earn just by playing the game, completing jobs, and levelling up your account and characters. These rewards are cosmetic, do not impact gameplay, and include Freegunner outfits, wearables, and accessories, as well as weapon skins, weapon charms, victory and defeat poses, and drop-in animations.”

Also, the studio has confirmed that it will release plenty of post-launch content that will include new maps, playable characters and more. All of it will be accessible at no additional cost, which is great news for those not willing to spend money beyond the initial purchase to fully enjoy a game.

"We will be introducing new Freegunners, maps, modes, and more through regular post-launch seasons and updates available to all players at no additional cost."

Therefore, you can forget about the usual combination of free and premium battle passes that is quite common in other games in the genre. Just use our comparator to purchase a Concord code, and get ready to jump into the action straight away as soon as the game is released on August 23, 2024.
