Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Receives Free “Thank You” update

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the critically acclaimed indie RPG from Sandfall Interactive, has launched a major free content update in celebration of its triumph at The Game Awards 2025. Titled the "Thank You" Update, it is now available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, offering new gameplay, story content, and quality-of-life improvements for fans worldwide.

New story content, environments, and more

The update marks a milestone for the game, which has earned widespread praise for its rich narrative, immersive world, and innovative gameplay mechanics. Sandfall Interactive framed the release as a gesture of gratitude toward its growing community, acknowledging the role of player support in the game’s standout year.

A highlight of the update is the introduction of Verso’s Drafts, a new playable area inspired by a storybook-style biome. Players can explore previously unseen locations, encounter new enemies, and uncover additional lore tied to the character Verso. This expansion deepens the narrative experience for returning players while providing new content for those revisiting the game.

The update also brings fresh challenges to veteran players. The Endless Tower mode, designed for high-level strategy and combat, now includes additional boss encounters. Alongside these challenges, Sandfall has added a fully featured Photo Mode, allowing players to capture and share memorable moments from their adventures with customizable framing and visual effects.

Award-winning composer Lorien Testard contributes new original tracks for the updated content, now available on streaming platforms. Accessibility and localization have been expanded with support for Czech, Ukrainian, Latin American Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian, bringing the total to 19 supported languages.

The update delivers performance and visual enhancements too, including FSR 4 support for smoother gameplay and sharper visuals, refined UI elements, expanded character loadouts, and fully remappable controller inputs. These improvements aim to streamline gameplay and enhance overall player experience across platforms.

Sandfall Interactive has emphasized that the "Thank You" Update is a heartfelt message to the community following a successful year for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and its recognition at The Game Awards. By delivering significant new content free of charge, the studio demonstrates its commitment to rewarding players and expanding the game world in meaningful ways.
