Top-Down Shooter Kusan: City of Wolves Launches July 30
Kusan: City of Wolves is an upcoming, hyper-violent neon-noir top-down shooter that delivers an intense, high-octane experience described as a Korean hip-hop meets Hotline Miami showdown. A gritty, rain-soaked Asian metropolis serves as the backdrop where players step into the combat boots of Jin, a lethal ex-soldier turned gun-for-hire on a desperate protective mission.
Scheduled for a digital release on July 30, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, the game offers an uncompromising, lightning-fast gameplay loop that rewards relentless aggression.
A Rain-Soaked Metropolis Built on Blood and Betrayal
The central narrative unfolds through stylish, dynamic comic-panel cutscenes detailing Jin’s efforts to defend a young girl named Haru. Targeted by dangerous factions due to an atomic weapon fused to her body, Haru is the key to a massive, corrupt military conspiracy. To keep her alive, Jin must wage a brutal one-man war across 54 hand-crafted stages, going head-to-head with criminal syndicate kingpins and dodging a coup orchestrated by his former comrades.
Gameplay is fast, unforgiving, and built around a razor-sharp, one-hit-death loop. Players navigate tight, puzzle-like combat arenas where aggressive forward momentum and lightning-fast reflexes are strictly required. Jin’s lethal arsenal includes slick firearms, a parry-capable Quantum Knife, and a devastating prosthetic War Hand.
High-Stakes Gunplay, Quantum Knives, and S-Rank Chases
Chaining together flawless, stylish executions rewards players with currency that can be used to customize loadouts and purchase valuable prosthetic upgrades. For perfectionists, a strict performance-grading system tracks run speed and precision, offering coveted S-ranks for the ultimate runs.
Backed by a heavy, beat-driven soundtrack from a prominent Korean hip-hop producer, the game aims to keep players firmly locked into a rhythmic flow state. A gameplay demo is currently available across platforms ahead of the July launch. Check out our comparison website for the best pre-order deal for Kusan: City of Wolves.
