Horizon: Zero Dawn, system requirements on PC have been unveiled

It was about time that Sony decided to make some of the PlayStation-exclusive titles available on other platforms. Since it launched, Horizon: Zero Dawn became quite a big hit among PlayStation players and one of those games that would make players purchase a console just to play it. But not everyone has several platforms to play at their disposal and sometimes players don't get to enjoy certain games just because of that kind of exclusivity. Now that the PlayStation 5 is on the way and that Horizon: Forbidden West is in development, Sony has decided to launch Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC and that is awesome news for all those players that have been dying to play it but that do not have a PlayStation. We don't know if this is just the tip of the iceberg in a change of policy that would make other PlayStation exclusive games available on PC. There is probably a long way to go before the company decides to implement something similar to Microsoft's Play Anywhere system, which lets players enjoy their games on Xbox One and PC, but the release of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC is more than welcome.

There is only one thing that concerns all those players that have been waiting to accompany Aloy in her adventures, and that is if their PCs will be able to run the game properly or not. That's why the reveal of the system requirements needed to play Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC is so important. You can watch the specifications needed below both for the minimum and recommended setups.

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K@3.3GHz or AMD FX 6300@3.5GHz
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 100 GB available space

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770K@3.5GHz or Ryzen 5 1500X@3.5GHz
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB)
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 100 GB available space

Although nothing has been specified about what kind of performance you can expect to get with those builds, the information above gives you more than enough to work with if you need to upgrade your rig before Horizon: Zero Dawn launches. The PC version will have better graphics with 4K support and higher frame rate, if your hardware can handle it, of course.
