The launch of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC has been confirmed

Sony's change of policy regarding the exclusivity of certain licenses on PlayStation seems to be a reality. At least that is what is directly implied by the official confirmation of the release of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC. Hermen Hulst, PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios president and former managing director of Guerrilla Games, has announced it during an interview on the PlayStation blog. After confirming the release of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC, he was asked about the implications of such a release and although he admits that a PC release is something that we shouldn't be looking at for all of the PlayStation-exclusive game, he doesn't close the door to it happening in the future.

I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on.

And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance. We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.

The possibility of Horizon: Zero Dawn being published on PC was revealed a while ago, but it has not been officially confirmed until now. It seems that we will have to wait a bit longer until guerrilla Games gives us the necessary details about it (launch date and PC system requirements) but since they are aiming for a release this summer the wait won't be too long.

The platform that has been chosen to launch Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC is Steam and the version we will be getting is the Complete Edition, which includes the Frozen Wilds expansion as well as some content packs.
