Mineko is a girl that has moved to a fishing town inundated with cats, on a struggling superstitious Japanese-inspired island at the base of Mount Fugu. The locals on the island worship the Sun Cat, Abe. What was always thought to be a long-told myth has the town puzzled, as sightings of Abe have begun to surface among the residents of the island in recent days. Find the secrets surrounding the sightings of Abe and manage your stall at the night market. Craft a variety of odd items, toys, and trinkets, which can then be sold to the townsfolk (who are now your customers) and explore the Night Market yourself, where you can play mini-games, eat unusual foods, and purchase collectibles.

The game allows you to explore distant lands using different types of transport like buses or trains or even a cat cart! Each land offers new people to meet and unique things to do, dependent on the time of day and season. There are 16 uniquely themed markets every year which all feature a stage event that you can partake in. Examples of events include Taiko drumming, karaoke competitions, sumo suit wrestling, and more.
