El Hijo is a mix of a western and stealth game where you play as a 6-year old boy on a quest of finding his mother.

El Hijo is set in a world similar to the American West inspired by Sergio Leone’s Westerns. The game features some of Leone’s most popular characteristics like various outlaw gangs, desert landscapes, shady saloons, and a heap of good sarcasm and irony.

Story

Everything starts when some bandits attack a family of farmers and ransack their farm. In order to protect their son, his mother sends the boy with a group of old monks, but El Hijo isn’t convinced with the monastic life and decides to escape.

Gameplay

Players explore three locations – a remote monastery, a frontier town filled with crime and villainy, and the unforgiving desert. The young boy must survive in each environment and fight against his enemies. You must come up with strategies to survive and progress through the game, combining your problem-solving skills and stealth. As you go from one level to another, the challenges become more difficult and complex.

This is a non-violent stealth game. Instead, it’s all about mischief and playfulness, traits that are common to a child. The world where El Hijo is in is full of monks, bandits, and lawmen – he must learn how to adapt to the different situations and devise cunning methods to outsmart them all.
