A character from Attack on Titan 2 using 3D maneuver gear to traverse a city.

Get ready for another titanic onslaught with Attack On Titan 2. Just like its predecessor, Attack on Titan 2 is based on the eponymous animated series created by the famous mangaka Hajime Isayama. The first installment allowed you to dive into the heart of the action of season 1, but on Attack on Titan 2 you will follow the events of season 2 while taking elements of the first season from a different angle.
Attack On Titan 2 follows the steps of its predecessor with a very similar gameplay, but some novelties have been included to enrich a little more the gaming experience.
Always equipped with your gear of three-dimensional maneuver, in this new opus, you will need to redouble your prudence against the Titans. Indeed, they now have a gauge of attention, so if you are noticed too much, they not much will be left of you. In addition, the discretion system has been improved to allow you the use of surprise to land blows even more deadly. You will also have greater freedom of movement, and better targeting of your enemies.
In Attack On Titan 2, the relationships between the characters are more advanced. This greater interactivity will allow you to build friendships and access secondary quests. There are more than 30 playable characters waiting for you in Attack On Titan 2, with the possibility to customize them now.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use ODM gear in the game's Story Mode to move around in areas that are not pre-determined?
No. The Story Mode levels generally have a set path for the ODM gear to follow, with only a few areas allowing for free movement.
How does the 'Buddy Action' system affect combat effectiveness and strategic options?
Buddy Actions provide temporary boosts like increased damage, healing, or status effects. Utilizing them strategically with allies can turn the tide of battles, especially against stronger Titans.
Does the game incorporate different Titan types with varied attack patterns and weaknesses?
Yes, the game features several Titan types, each with unique attack patterns, movement styles, and specific body parts that are vulnerable to attack.
Are there ways to upgrade or customize the ODM gear beyond simply increasing stats?
Yes, players can craft and equip different blades, gas cylinders, and other equipment modifications to alter the ODM gear's performance, such as attack power, maneuverability, and blade durability.
How important is resource management, specifically gas and blades, during missions?
Resource management is crucial. Running out of gas severely limits mobility, and blunt blades greatly reduce damage output. Players must balance aggressive attacks with tactical retreats to resupply.
How does the 'Territory Recovery Mode' differ from the main campaign in terms of gameplay and objective?
Territory Recovery Mode focuses on clearing multiple zones of Titans, building bases, and managing resources to expand your territory, offering a more strategic and less story-driven experience.
What role do 'Supporting Characters' play in combat, and how can I utilize them effectively?
Supporting Characters offer various buffs and debuffs, as well as unique attacks. Players must learn their strengths and weaknesses to optimize their effectiveness in combat.
Can I directly control my character's movement while engaged in a 'Titan Battle', or is it mostly automated?
While aiming and attacking are player-controlled, movement within a Titan Battle is partially assisted. The ODM gear will automatically target and grapple to Titan body parts depending on your input.
How does the 'Friendship' mechanic with other characters impact the game's progression?
Increasing friendship levels unlocks new skills, battle support abilities, and story events, giving you access to unique advantages in combat and expanding the game's narrative depth.
Does the game include a 'Character Creation' feature, and if so, what level of customization is available?
Yes, players can create their own original character with a variety of customization options, including appearance, voice, and initial stats, though the customization is not as extensive as in a full RPG.

This game is without a doubt ten times better than the first game. I only played a little of the first one and enjoyed it.
