Tropico 6 is out on PC today!

Announced for the first time at the E3 2017, Tropico 6 was originally due out in January but it was postponed. Well, the wait is finally over since Tropico 6 is now available on PC today. The console players will have to wait a bit since the game will be released on Xbox One and PS4 this summer. Formerly developed by the Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games (Tropico 3, 4 and 5) Limbic Entertainment is in charge of this new installment, and the studio seems to have taken to heart its mission to offer players a game worthy of its predecessors. The team tells us a little more about the game in a video published on the channel of Kalypso Media. This video is a kind of diary or making-of in which the team explains the direction they chose to take for Tropico 6.

What are the novelties of Tropico 6?

The first point raised by the developers is the graphic aspect of the game. Limbic Entertainment has decided to offer a more realistic game, with modern graphics, using a different engine, the Unreal Engine. Always with the aim of offering more realism, Tropico 6 will have a map different from the previous installments. While Tropico 5 took place on a single large island, this new title offers players an entire archipelago. This choice was, according to the team, more consistent with the game environment. This new arrangement will also introduce new game mechanics. In fact, transport will become an essential component for you to move from island to island, and several options are available to you. You can, of course, use the seaway, or build bridges to connect the islands and create new access roads.

Speaking of construction, you will find more than 150 buildings in Tropico 6, most of them with four different versions, to help you shape your archipelago to your image. And the central building in the series is, of course, the palace of the famous El Presidente. You can customize it as you wish. The dynasty system has been removed, so you can make El Presidente the dictator of your dreams. Like any great leader, you will also have to deal with other nations, and Tropico 6's international relations rely heavily on the functionality of Tropico 5's DLC Espionage, allowing you among other things to steal technologies and even famous landmarks from your rivals.

Finally, a feature that was missing from the previous title is making a comeback, the opportunity to make speeches, with a host of options available to address your people and allow you to lead as you wish. Tropico 6 is available today on PC and it will be released this summer on Xbox One and PS4. To get it at the best price, visit our comparator.
