This is how E3 2021 will work

The past year has not been a smooth one for the video game world. Not only the pandemic has been responsible of many delays due to the necessity of organizing the work in a different way, which naturally slowed down development for many games, but it has also had a heavy impact on events. This includes esport competitions, smaller events such as LANs, and of course the major events that all gamers look forward to every year

The 2020 edition of the E3 was obviously canceled, as the timeframe was far too short to find a viable online alternative for such a large event. As a result, game developers and publishers have been organizing their own events, and we wondered what would happen to the 2021 edition of the E3. It was announced some time ago that a virtual edition would take place, and details about it are slowly coming in. The dates for E3 2021 are known, and it will take place from June 12 to June 15, just one month from now. A provisional list of participants, which you can find at the bottom of this article, has also been unveiled, and today we have a bit more information about what will happen during the event.

Virtual edition means livestream of course, but ESA has gone a bit further for this E3 2021. In addition to the usual conferences, a virtual portal and an application will be set up to replace the usual exhibitor stands. Dedicated forums and quests to encourage audience interaction will be available too, and there will even be a leaderboard. To access all this content, you will need to have an account, which you can create for free later this month.

We should have more details in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we can already imagine which games will be presented thanks to the list of speakers, which continues to grow. Horizon Forbidden West, Rainbow Six Quarantine, GTA 6, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Deathloop, Far Cry 6, God of War: Ragnarök, and Elden Ring are some of the games we'd like to know more about, and that will potentially be present at the event.
