The People of Sea, Sun & Salt: Building Islands at Sea
If you are looking for a city builder and survival game with a bright 3D isometric art style this April, let me introduce you to the game: The People of Sea, Sun & Salt.
Leading a nation through 15 turbulent historical eras
Released on April 1, 2026, the game was developed by Emerick Gibson and published by RockGame S.A. (famous for games such as Scrapnaut or Cowboy Life Simulator). It brings players to a small Mediterranean island where they have the task of building and leading a civilization from its earliest beginnings.
The biggest highlight of this game is its tide mechanic: the land area depends on the player's level of cultural development. When "culture points" are high, the sea level recedes to reveal more land for construction; conversely, if you fail in management, the tide will rise and submerge the city. Because the land area on the island is very limited, you will need to calculate extremely carefully instead of just focusing on building for aesthetics.
You will have to progress through 15 different historical eras with more than 100 different types of buildings; each stage will bring increasingly complex needs from the citizens.
You are not just an architect but also a shaper of faith and culture. You will have to answer questions such as "How was the world created?" "Who should they worship?" or even "What is the best time to take a bath?" These choices directly affect the development of society.
The duration of a complete playthrough usually lasts more than 10 hours, and with 30 unlockable achievements, the game promises to offer players certain challenges. The game has been praised for its interesting combination of construction elements and survival mechanics against natural disasters (rising waters).
If you want to experience it before buying, there is a free demo available on Steam for you to try the early stages of the game. Remember to use our comparison tool to purchase The People of Sea, Sun & Salt at the best price!
