Nivalis Nights: Build Your Own Life in a Cyberpunk City

Nivalis Nights Lets You Build a Life in a Cyberpunk City

Cyberpunk games often tell stories about corporations, violence, and battles that could change an entire city. Nivalis Nights takes a much more down-to-earth approach. Officially released on PC on September 29, ION LANDS' latest game brings players back to the city of Nivalis, but not as a delivery driver like in Cloudpunk. Instead, you start with a small noodle stand, earn a living, meet the locals, and gradually build a life of your own in a sprawling cyberpunk metropolis.

A Cyberpunk Life That Starts With a Noodle Stand

Nivalis Nights mixes life sim, management, RPG, and narrative adventure elements. Its setting still carries many familiar cyberpunk themes: CorpSec is tightening its grip on parts of the city, curfews are in effect, and a mysterious serial killer is somewhere out there. But instead of handing you a gun and asking you to save the city, the game focuses on a much simpler question: what kind of life do you want to live here?

That journey starts on a modest scale. From a small noodle stand, you can gradually expand into ramen bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, manage your businesses, source or grow ingredients, and develop new venues. Work is only part of life in Nivalis, though. You can also spend your days meeting people, building friendships or romances, buying and decorating a home, fishing, taking your boat out, or discovering stories hidden throughout the city.

Some of the activities you can expect include:

  • Managing and expanding several types of businesses.
  • Finding, buying, or growing ingredients for your restaurants.
  • Building relationships and discovering the stories of Nivalis' residents.
  • Buying and decorating homes, fishing, boating, and playing minigames.
  • Taking advantage of curfew to sabotage rivals while risking retaliation in return.

In terms of atmosphere, VA-11 Hall-A is a useful point of comparison, as both games explore cyberpunk worlds through the lives of ordinary people, using service work as a gateway into more personal stories. Nivalis Nights also shares some of the spirit of Citizen Sleeper, where everyday choices, relationships, and how you spend your time can shape the direction of your life. The biggest difference is scale: rather than focusing primarily on dialogue or narrative RPG systems, Nivalis Nights brings those ideas into a 3D city where you can actually live, run businesses, and explore.

Its appeal, then, goes beyond simply owning a better restaurant or a nicer apartment. Nivalis Nights lets you create your own routine in a neon-lit world that might otherwise seem built only for dystopian stories. You can focus on making money, forming relationships, uncovering the city's secrets, or simply finding a small corner of Nivalis that feels like home.

Nivalis Nights is now officially available on PC via Steam. Visit the game's Steam page to learn more about the game, and check out our price comparison platform to buy Nivalis Nights at the best price.

I loved Cloudpunk so much. I have a crap ton of games to play right now, so I will let this one cook for a little bit. I've been looking forward to this for years.

In principle, I think it's quite nice. It just needs to be consistent with what already exists, because adding new features for the sake of adding new features isn't necessarily very interesting. If the integration is successful, it could be an interesting evolution.

Puede ser interesante, sobre todo si las novedades no son solo para lucir bien. De todos modos, esperaré un poco de retroalimentación antes de lanzarme.
It could be interesting, especially if the new features aren't just for show. Anyway, I'll wait for some feedback before jumping in.

this took a while. I remember seeing it years ago, back then it was just “Nivalis”. Wish it’d come to consoles

It's rather amusing to have imagined a game with a social dimension, which at first glance seems quite chill, but set in a cyberpunk universe. I don't know to what extent we'll have freedom of choice in this game, but the concept is interesting.
