Mortal Kombat 1 is launching without crossplay

Despite being in development for quite a long time, it seems that the developer still needs more time to implement all the features that Mortal Kombat 1 deserves ahead of its launch. While crossplay is not strictly necessary for players to enjoy the game it's always a very welcomed addition to fighting games as it enlarges the pool of players that you can face in your matches, speeding up the matchmaking process, and allowing you to test your skill against a wide range of playstyles. Unfortunately, Mortal Kombat 1 will be missing the feature at launch, but NetherRealm Studios promises to add it later, although nothing has been said about which platforms will be included.

Ready for release

Despite the sad news about crossplay, we are happy to confirm that Mortal Kombat 1 is ready for its release, which is coming next Tuesday for PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. NetherRealm Studios has also released a spectacular launch trailer to get the fans ready for what's coming. The video offers a good look at many of the fighters that will be available in Mortal Kombat 1 at launch, including Reiko and Shang Tsung.
