Mortal Kombat 1's first DLC revealed

Mortal Kombat 1's first DLC revealed

While Mortal Kombat 1 promises to deliver an exciting experience that will revolutionize the series with new origins for most of the fighters that have made the franchise a huge hit among fighting games, developer NetherRealm Studios is thinking about the post-launch content even before the game is released. The upcoming installment in the popular fighting series won't arrive until September 19 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, but all those that pre-ordered the game on PS5 and Xbox will be able to give Mortal Kombat 1 a try during the closed beta that will kick off next month.

Mortal Kombat 1 will feature a sizeable roster of characters with many of the favorite fighters of the fans, albeit all these will have new storylines that the players will discover, significantly altering the old relationships in the new universe created by Fire God Liu Kang.

Plenty of crossover characters

All the seasoned fans of the series know that NetherRealm Studios likes to introduce many characters via DLC and many of those are the result of crossovers with other franchises. Mortal Kombat 1 will be no different on that matter, and the recent announcement of all the characters that will be included in the first DLC pack for the game demonstrates it since it includes Homelander, Quan Chi, Omni Man, Ermac, Takeda, and Peacemaker as playable fighters.

Hopefully, we will see more of all those characters in action including some of their fatalities, maybe right after Mortal Kombat 1 is released or even before that. The only thing granted is that the game will feature brutal combats showing an unmatched level of violence that will rival Mortal Kombat 11.
