Elden Ring’s latest update buffs spells and colossal swords

Good news for fans of big swords and spells—Elden Ring’s recent update 1.04 has buffed the speed and power of both Colossal Swords, incantations, and sorceries, plus a slew of bug fixes and other changes. All players are required to apply the patch first before they can play the game.

To start with, the speed and damage of Colossal Swords and Colossal Weapons have been increased, while their recovery time has been decreased. Similarly, the physical block rate and guard boost of the Colossal Sword, Colossal Weapons, Great Sword, Great Hammer, Great Axe, Great Spear, and Halberds have been increased as well.

Likewise, skills such as Lion's Cla, Kick, and Hoarah Loux's Earthshaker, among others, now have increased cast speed.

Meanwhile, certain sorceries have had their casting time and recovery time reduced, including Crystal Barrage, Grave of Haima, Shatter Earth, Ranni's Dark Moon, and Rennala's Full Moon.

These buffs will definitely impact choices for player builds, especially when it comes to facing bosses and during PvP.

It’s not all good news, however. Several nerfs have also been introduced. For spells, Swarm of Flies now has lower blood loss buildup, and both The Flame of Frenzy and Frenzied Burst have lower madness buildup on an enemy.

There is also the added feature of turning the camera auto-rotate function on or off. The NPC “Patches” also received some additional quest steps. Finally, there’s a long list of bug patches for the game.
