Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a GOTY Edition

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a GOTY Edition

It has taken CD Projekt Red almost a year to turn Cyberpunk 2077 into the game it should have been at launch. It's surprising that the studio has decided to release a Game of the Year edition right now. The game delivered an unpleasant experience for many players at release, especially those playing Cyberpunk 2077 on old-gen consoles. The performance wasn't at the expected level, and CD Projekt Red had to admit that it was needed to delay the plans to release post-launch content to focus on fixing the game.

Moving fast forward to the current date and quite a few patches later, Cyberpunk 2077 is in a much better position across all platforms and the game delivers a solid RPG experience in a sci-fi universe. The level of immersion is great, the combat is awesome in all its forms, and the story is epic. As a result, the number of copies sold has multiplied exponentially in the last few months. The game also received a popularity boost as a result of the release of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series on Netflix. The developer recently announced the first and only upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, which won't be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year Edition

While nobody was expecting to see a Game of the Year edition at this time, it's a great option for those yet to discover the game, as it will include the base game with all the free updates released to date and the Phantom Liberty expansion. After the expansion's release, CD Projekt Red will focus on developing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which should include multiplayer features.
