Overwatch Dev Q&A
May 23, 2016, 6:59 PM Fyra Frost
In a few hours from now, Overwatch will be going live. Over the span of a week Blizzard has released 2 cinematic shorts giving us a glimpse of the background stories of Hanzo and Genji in “Dragons” and Soldier 76 in “Hero“. Blizzard has also had several launch events in several places where they also displayed colossal collectibles of Genji, Pharah, and Tracer. And the latest being the Live Q&A session streamed over Facebook. Here are some tidbits from the session: The Overwatch graphic novel titled “First Strike” is on the way Animated shorts – There will be more animated shorts in the future. Jeff Kaplan called the first set as “season 1” Game modes – they prototype a lot of game modes, some of which might not stand on their own and are better suited as brawls. And that game brawls are the perfect testing grounds for new modes, and might make their way into quick play if successful. Another possible outcome would be that they could be part of the map elements like the moving platforms on Volskaya and Route 66. Game balance – “triangular” balance approach – they would consider the player feedback and compare it with their own feelings towards game balance as well as compare them with the game statistics(hero performance across different skill levels). There might also be slight differences between console and pc versions, an example sited was how aim assist on the console versions interacted with Symmetra’s turrets. Clan/Guild systems – They consider social features as very important and that they are looking into those systems. Lastly, Jeff Kaplan ended the Q&A session with a call to the community to be nice to one another. The post Overwatch Dev Q&A appeared first on News, updates from the DLCompare.com Blog.

African fantasy RPG to be released soon
Apr 1, 2016, 8:01 PM Fyra Frost
It’s a fact that videogames are played all over the world but you can’t say the same about their developement or the folklore they are based on. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is one of those rare titles that not only has a story based upon African folklore – a culture and mythology that differs a lot from the ones we are used to find in games – but it is also made by a developer that you have prolly never heard of before, Kiro’o Games, the first videogame developer from Central Africa. The game is a 2D fantasy/RPG action title with hand-drawn graphics that follows the story of Enzo Kori-Odan, the last heir of the family ruling on Zama, in the mythical land of Auronia. Right before his coronation as king and marriage to his love, Erine Evou, he will be ambushed and overthrown, having to embark himself in a quest to recover his throne and save their kingdom. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan – The awakening Aurion: LotK is the first project from Kiro’o it’s about to be released. They successfully funded it through a Kickstarter campaign that was initially aiming to get 40000€ and even if they didn’t reach all their stretch goals they still managed to get enough for the localization of the game in german and spanish and also to complete the port to Playstation 4. If you consider the lack of video game development in Cameroon and that the studio’s whole staff is self-taught, managing to create a title like this is quite an achievement and good news since it proves that there are still many brilliant gaming possibilities that can break through and find their place. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is set for release on April 14 2016, published by Plug In Digital. The post African fantasy RPG to be released soon appeared first on .
