African fantasy RPG to be released soon

It's a fact that video games are played all over the world but you can't say the same about their development or the folklore they are based on. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is one of those rare titles that not only has a story based upon African folklore - a culture and mythology that differs a lot from the ones we are used to find in games - but it is also made by a developer that you have probably never heard of before, Kiro'o Games, the first video game developer from Central Africa. The game is a 2D fantasy/RPG action title with hand-drawn graphics that follows the story of Enzo Kori-Odan, the last heir of the family ruling on Zama, in the mythical land of Auronia. Right before his coronation as king and marriage to his love, Erine Evou, he will be ambushed and overthrown, having to embark himself in a quest to recover his throne and save their kingdom.

Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan - The awakening

Aurion: LotK is the first project from Kiro'o it's about to be released. They successfully funded it through a Kickstarter campaign that was initially aiming to get 40000€ and even if they didn't reach all the stretch goals they still managed to get enough for the localization of the game in German and Spanish and also to complete the port to PlayStation 4. If you consider the lack of video game development in Cameroon and that the studio's whole staff is self-taught, managing to create a title like this is quite an achievement and good news since it proves that there are still many brilliant gaming possibilities that can break through and find their place. Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is set for release on April 14 2016, published by Plug In Digital.
