9 Monkeys of Shaolin demo is already available

The name 9 Monkeys of Shaolin may not ring a bell for you but after you play its demo you will probably have a very good opinion about this video game, especially if you are a fan of the beat 'em up genre. This upcoming indie title developed by Sobaka Studio will take you to the mountains of China in an epic adventure that reminisces of the thrilling stories in classic martial arts films. In 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, you will play as the Chinese fisherman Wei Cheng, whose parents were assassinated during a bandit raid. He has grown up training his martial art skills to be able to defend his village. Unfortunately, another attack happens while he is fishing outside, and he finds his peaceful village destroyed and his people killed when he returns. He will embark on a journey looking for revenge in which he will face countless enemies as he traverses the whole region.

Like other games in the genre, 9 Monkeys of Shaolin offers you lots of action and plenty of enemies to defeat, but it also takes quite an interesting approach to the development of your character, trying to mimic the evolving process that would be involved in the learning of martial arts to create a sort of progression system. You will start knowing the basic moves that you learned training by yourself, and at certain points of the story, you will have access to new abilities and movements that will take gameplay to a completely new level when combines with the ones that you already know. You will also have several ability trees available to enhance your skills, which will result in plenty of options when it comes to combat and character customization in 9 Monkeys of Shaolin.

You have the possibility of trying all the features in 9 Monkeys of Shaolin by playing its demo, which is available on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store for free right now. The full game will be available on October 16th.
