Ships at Sea is an immersive maritime simulation game that offers players an authentic experience of life on the open waters. Building upon the foundations of its predecessors, Fishing: Barents Sea and Fishing: North Atlantic, this title expands the horizons by introducing a variety of ship types and gameplay mechanics.

Set against the backdrop of the Norwegian archipelago, players can command a range of vessels, including fishing boats, cargo ships, and service vessels. Each ship type presents unique challenges and missions, from deep-sea fishing and cargo transportation to complex mechanical repairs. The game emphasizes realism, featuring a dynamic weather system that simulates rain, fog, lightning, and storms, all of which impact navigation and operations.

One of the standout features is the cooperative multiplayer mode, allowing up to four players to collaborate in managing resources, maintaining vessels, and completing missions. This shared-world experience fosters teamwork as players undertake tasks such as refueling, equipment upgrades, and supply management.

Technologically, Ships at Sea leverages the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, delivering stunning visuals and realistic water physics through NVIDIA's WaveWorks technology. The game also introduces a new marine life AI system, taking into account factors like water temperature to create a more authentic fishing experience.

Players can customize their characters and vessels, tailoring their appearance and performance to suit individual playstyles. The inclusion of licensed equipment from real-world maritime companies adds an extra layer of authenticity.

Whether you're navigating treacherous waters, hauling in a big catch, or ensuring your vessel is shipshape, Ships at Sea offers a comprehensive and engaging simulation for maritime enthusiasts.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

: Can I directly control the cannons on my ship, or are they handled automatically in combat?
Cannons are handled automatically. Players focus on ship positioning, special ability activation, and resource management during battles.; How does the 'Wind Gauge' affect my ship's speed and maneuverability?
The Wind Gauge dictates the optimal sail angle. Sailing directly against the wind severely reduces speed, while sailing with the wind at your back maximizes it. The gauge impacts turn rate and stability too.; What is the purpose of the 'Hull Integrity' stat, and how is it different from 'Sail Durability'?
Hull Integrity represents the structural strength of your ship. Damage to the hull reduces its overall effectiveness, and if reduced to zero, the ship sinks. Sail Durability represents the ability of the sail to withstand wind and combat. If the sail is too damaged, the ship's speed is reduced.; Are there different types of ammunition, and if so, how do they affect combat?
Yes, there are different ammunition types, each with unique effects. Some may deal more hull damage, some could disable sails, and others may cause status effects like fire.; How does the 'Crew Morale' mechanic influence the gameplay experience?
Crew Morale impacts the ship's combat effectiveness, and its ability to withstand damage. Low morale can lead to penalties in combat performance, while high morale can provide bonuses to combat effectiveness and resilience.; Can I repair my ship while in combat, or is repair restricted to outside of combat?
Limited repairs can be performed during combat, but they are significantly less effective and consume valuable resources. Full repairs are possible only outside of combat.; How is 'Line of Sight' determined in naval battles?
Line of Sight is primarily determined by terrain and ship positioning. Ships can hide behind islands or other vessels, blocking cannon fire and certain abilities.; Does the game feature a 'boarding' mechanic, allowing me to engage in close-quarters combat?
The game focuses on naval combat. There is no boarding mechanic where players engage in close-quarters combat.; What is the 'Trade Wind' mechanic, and how can I use it to my advantage?
Trade Winds are dynamic weather patterns that provide significant speed boosts in specific areas of the map. Utilizing these winds efficiently is essential for quick travel and strategic positioning.; How does the game handle ship upgrades, and what types of upgrades are available?
Ship upgrades are acquired through a combination of in-game currency, resources, and blueprints found throughout the game. Upgrades include improved cannons, reinforced hulls, enhanced sails, and special ability enhancements.
