    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

If my island's "Doom" level reaches 100%, what exactly happens?
At 100% Doom, your island is permanently removed from the game, along with all associated resources and progress. You then start anew on a procedurally generated island.
Can I permanently destroy the "Doom Seeds" to lower my island's Doom level?
No. "Doom Seeds" cannot be destroyed. They continually generate Doom, and your strategy must focus on mitigating their effects and managing your resources.
How do "Cataclysmic Events" impact the gameplay loop?
Cataclysmic Events trigger at specific Doom level thresholds. They introduce devastating challenges like resource depletion, new enemy types, or map alterations, forcing strategic adaptation.
Is there a way to store resources across island cycles?
No. Resources are island-specific. You cannot carry over any resources when moving to a new island due to a 'Doom' event.
How does the "Hope" stat affect gameplay, and what actions increase it?
"Hope" mitigates the rate at which "Doom" increases. Actions such as completing objectives, constructing specific buildings, or successfully fending off attacks increase "Hope."
What is the consequence of failing to evacuate a citizen before a Cataclysmic Event?
Citizens not evacuated during a Cataclysmic Event are lost permanently, impacting your workforce and thus resource gathering capabilities on subsequent islands.
Are the islands procedurally generated, or are there pre-designed maps?
The islands are procedurally generated, ensuring a unique map layout, resource distribution, and initial challenges with each playthrough.
How do the "Ancient Relics" contribute to my island's survival?
Ancient Relics provide powerful passive or active bonuses that can boost resource gathering, combat effectiveness, or even slow the advance of Doom. Their effects are unique and can change your gameplay strategy.
Can I directly combat the "Doom Seeds," or must I rely on mitigation strategies?
You cannot directly attack or eliminate the Doom Seeds. Your focus must be on mitigating their effects through resource management, defensive structures, and hope-generating actions.
Do different island biomes offer unique gameplay challenges beyond resource availability?
Yes. Each biome presents distinct environmental hazards, affecting building placement, resource accessibility, and even the types of Cataclysmic Events that occur.
