Behold the fall of the mighty empire! Empires in Ruins is a 4x grand strategy game combined with RTS, tower defense mechanics, and a humorous story about insubordination, betrayal, and conquest.

You lead the cynical, alcoholic, and perennially pissed-off Sergeant Hans Heimer to quell a rebellion in the West Marches of the kingdom. From there, the good Sergeant takes matters into his own hands as he moves to take vengeance on “the system”.

A story-driven war game. The plot is full of twists and turns, betrayals, and corruption. Deal with greedy and power-hungry officials and army officers, forge alliances through diplomacy, and come out on top. The choices and allies you make in this game shape the Sergeant’s fortunes, so keep your helmet on straight!

RTS action. Build fortifications and defend them against invaders, tower-defense style. Create defensive structures to maintain control of the battle. Assign officers to bolster morale and lead the troops. Beware of enemies who will undermine your defenses. Fight on the ground, on the seas, in the skies, and through secret paths.

Long-term strategy. Expand your reach by conquering provinces one after another. Improve their supply of resources to your own coffers. Assign your officers to govern the regions, but don’t expect them to stay loyal for long. A few executions can keep your people in line.

Manage research. You have more than 100 technologies you can use to crush your enemies.

Emperors, who needs them? You can rule the world your way!
