Magic: Legends is an action RPG based on the collectible card game Magic: The Gathering in which you will become a powerful mage who is able to traverse the different planes of the Magic Multiverse. As a Planeswalker, you explore those planes looking for spells to add to your collection, so you can create powerful combinations that you can use to fight an ancient evil that is trying to destroy the balance between the planes.

In the game, you will choose from a variety of character classes, including Geomancer, Necromancer, Mind Mage, Beastcaller, and Sanctifier, each of them specialized in a type of magic and with several powers linked to one of the five mana colors. You will also start with a small number of spells at your disposal, usually linked to the color of your specialization, but you will collect more as you progress through the game and you can make them more powerful too. Those spells take the form of cards in your collection, and you can combine a certain number of them to create a powerful deck that will determine which spells you have at your disposal. You can combine those spells however you please, even if they use different types of mana, which is the energy used to cast them, and that you can recover over time. The spells can create a variety of harmful or beneficial effects or even summon creatures to do your bidding. Making use of those you will fight against hordes of enemies as you explore the different planes of the multiverse.

Magic: Legends also includes a level-based progression system that will let you unlock additional powers and passive abilities as you level up. The game also features cooperative multiplayer gameplay for up to three people.
