Explore, build, and defend your base in Aegis Defenders, a fusion of the tower defense and platformer game genres. Enter the fantasy world of Elam, a land filled with dangers and magical artifacts from a lost civilization. On their journeys, the Ruinhunters Bart and his granddaughter Clu discover an artifact of enormous power: the Aegis. When the evil Empire catches wind of their discovery, the pair teams up with Kobo the companion drone, Kaiim the monk, and Zula the bandit to keep the Aegis from falling into the wrong hands. 

Aegis Defenders can be played in either single or multiplayer mode. The game featuresf an exploration phase and a tower defense phase. First, you must explore Elam in a Metroidvania-style platformer, gathering items that you can use to upgrade your equipment. To progress, you need to work with your team of up to four characters to collect items and set up buildings.

In the tower defense phase, you need to once again cooperate with all characters to successfully defend your base against waves of enemies coming in from all sides. Use Dynamic Character Swapping to switch between characters. Use their abilities to either attack enemies or build up your defenses. If you can survive through 18 levels of challenging gameplay, you will truly earn your name as Aegis Defenders.
