Murder by Numbers is a hybrid game of visual novels with nonogram-style logic puzzles to progress the story. You solve crimes by figuring out and solving complicated number puzzles. If you’ve never played Picross, think of it kind of like sudoku, but the goal is to create an image. Just like in sudoku, you’re presented with a grid, but here there are numbers listed along each side.
Honor Mizhari is the co-star of the TV detective show Murder: Miss Terri. After she is abruptly fired from her job, she comes across SCOUT, a flying robot who was thrown away in a trash heap and has lost most of his memories. The show's showrunner has been murdered.
