Steel Rain is an innovative game that offers you the best of two worlds by combining extreme shoot'em up action with RPG elements that introduce plenty of tactical options. You are the last hope of mankind, a pilot tasked with finding a new home for our civilization. You will explore different planets and fight hordes of enemies, building, developing and managing colonies on those planets. Those colonies will help you to research new technologies to improve your spaceships, as well as unlock new ones. Steel Rain features a crafting system that allows you to create different elements that will be used to modify your wings however you choose, offering you a wide array of tactical options in combat You will go out on missions to collect resources and cash and then return to a base to upgrade and modify your spaceships as you please.
In Steel Rain, you control a pair of wings that you can arrange in different formations and shooting modes. Learning which is the best option for every moment is the key to success in the frantic battles that await for you in the game. Combat missions are played like in a classic 2d sidescrolling shoot'em up, so expect fast action and a bullet hell that will put your piloting skills to test every single moment while you fight against hordes of enemies. There are seven different planets for you to explore and colonize, each of them with a huge boss waiting for you, but you can also embark on randomly generated patrol missions for endless fun. Steel Rain also includes an editor that you can use to create your own stages, so the gameplay options are limitless. There are up to 10 difficulty levels, and a hardcore mode to push you to the limit.
Finally, Steel Rain supports local cooperative gameplay for up to two players, so you can play along with a friend for double the fun.
