Can you defeat an enemy who wears your face and learns from your every move? Echo is a haunting sci-fi stealth game where you play En, a star-faring young woman in search of a way to revive a fallen comrade. Her quest takes her to the mythical Palace, a strange and seemingly endless version of the palace of Versailles, which promises technological secrets that can revive the dead. But the Palace isn’t uninhabited; En soon runs into the Echoes, organic duplicates of herself that don’t seem much of a threat at first. However, after each intermittent power surge, all dead Echoes get revived. Worse, they learn moves that you used prior to the blackout: if you were sneaking, they will start sneaking. If you move through water, they will do the same. And if you use your gun, you will end up facing a barrage of laser fire. The only saving grace is that these creatures unlearn techniques you didn’t use in the previous cycle, making each of your moves both a way to save your life and a danger to face later on.

Stealth, strategy, and risk management need to be put into play in order to survive. Yet as En delves deeper into the bowels of the Palace, she finds that the most diabolical secrets have been saved for last.
