Behold a vision of a terrifying future in SOMA, a first-person survival horror game set in the black reaches beneath the sea. You play Simon Jarret, who suffers from brain damage after a 2015 car crash. You agree to undergo an experimental brain scan that would help your condition, but when you wake up from the procedure, it is now 2104 and you find yourself in PATHOS-II, a research station deep under the ocean. You come in contact with Catherine Chun, a computer scientist, and together you must work to escape the rapidly decaying station while avoiding horrific creatures that have been taken over by a sentient A.I.

Much like its predecessor, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, you have no way of fighting back in SOMA. You must find other ways to deal with the horror of your reality, miles underwater, surrounded by mutated creatures and horrific fusions of humans and robots. As you and Catherine attempt to make sense of your situation and save yourselves, you must evade and hide from enemies populating the twisting corridors and ruined rooms of PATHOS-II—horrific creatures who claim to be human.

Terrifying, moody, and melancholic, SOMA is a thought-provoking story about human consciousness and the tenuous link between the mind and the body.
