Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong releasing this May

Vampire: The Masquerade is getting quite a bit of buzz this past year, with the free-to-play Bloodhunt, Coteries of New York, Shadows of New York, and the upcoming Bloodlines 2. Now we have yet another game coming this May 19: Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. You can check out the gameplay trailer now:

Developed by Big Bad Wolf Studios, Swansong takes place in the World of Darkness where vampires reside among the human population, hiding in plain sight according to the laws established by the Masquerade. Things start to go awry for the vampire coterie in Boston when some members start winding up dead. The Prince of the Boston vampires, Hazel Ivershire, calls upon three trusted agents to find the killers and put a stop to them. 

Swansong is a narrative-driven RPG where you control three distinct characters: Galeb of Clan Ventrue, Emem of Clan Toreador, and Leysha of Clan Malkavian. The choices you make affect the events that unfold and the ending of the story. 

As you proceed to solve the mystery, you interact with various NPCs and situations that require the use of social, technical, and combat skills that you can level up.  

The developers of Big Bad Wolf explain it as such:

“Each of the three heroes has a character sheet that the player can fully customise. You can be an expert in speech and persuasion and dominate others, or you can develop your technology skills so you can hack computers and locks. The heroes also have vampire powers of their own: the Disciplines. For example, Leysha can Obfuscate to conceal her presence, Emem uses Celerity to reach otherwise inaccessible locations and Galeb makes others his puppet using Domination." 

These powers, however, are fueled by consuming blood. If you run out of blood, things start to get difficult as your hunger begins to influence your personality and the choices you make in-game.
