Upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 titles leaked

Now that we have a launch date for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, we speculated on what games will appear in Volume 2. It took only a few days before our question was inadvertently answered by the official Konami website itself.

In case you haven’t seen the Master Collection Vol. 1 trailer yet, have a look here:

First spotted by Twitter use Nitroid, the leak appears in the Metal Gear Solid timeline. It turns out that there are a number of placeholder buttons on the timeline that point to new pages of Metal Gear Solid games.

These buttons coincide with theories on what Metal Gear Solid games will be included in Master Collection Volume 2—specifically, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Assuming the rumor is true, this will be the first time that we will see Metal Gear Solid 4 outside of the PlayStation 3. MGS4 has been locked in that console for 15 years now, so for such a beloved and critically-acclaimed game to be playable on different platforms is sure to get the blood of die-hard fans pumping.

Will other MGS games be part of the collection? Since the first collection has the first two Metal Gear games and their variants, it’s entirely possible we’ll see something like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance included as well. Since Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is a prequel to Phantom Pain, it's also a good candidate.

Metal Gear Solid isn’t even the first Konami game that faced leaks this year. The Silent Hill 2 remake and various new Silent Hill titles had multiple leaks ahead of their announcement.

As Volume 2 will likely still be months or even a year away, we still have Volume 1 to look forward to this October. You can pre-purchase a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 PC key with our comparator today.
