New Turok: Origins Gameplay Footage Released
Saber Interactive has released a brand-new gameplay video for Turok: Origins, offering fans another glimpse at the long-awaited revival of the classic dinosaur-hunting franchise. The latest footage, though brief at just under a minute, delivers an intense showcase of the game's fast-paced combat, monstrous creatures, and cinematic presentation.
Turok is back
The new trailer highlights several of the key elements that define Turok: Origins. Players can be seen battling packs of dinosaurs with a wide array of futuristic weapons, including heavy firearms and energy-based weaponry. Explosive encounters and brutal takedowns suggest that the game is aiming for a more action-oriented experience than previous entries in the series.
Unlike the original Turok games, which were primarily first-person shooters, Turok: Origins adopts a third-person perspective and introduces both solo and cooperative gameplay. The footage also teases large-scale environments and alien threats, expanding the franchise's traditional dinosaur-focused setting into a broader science-fiction adventure.
Saber Interactive first announced Turok: Origins during The Game Awards in 2024. Since then, the developer has gradually revealed more details about the project, positioning it as a modern reimagining of the beloved series. The latest gameplay trailer confirms that the title remains on track for its previously announced Fall 2026 release window, although it's quite likely that it will try to avoid being close to Grand Theft Auto VI release date.
Reaction from longtime fans has been mixed. While many players have praised the game's visual fidelity, creature designs, and high-octane action, others have expressed concern over its departure from the classic first-person formula that made the original games famous. Discussions across social media have centered on whether the new direction preserves the spirit of the franchise or transforms it into something entirely different.
Despite the divided response, the latest gameplay reveal has succeeded in reigniting interest in the series. With dinosaurs, alien enemies, and cooperative combat taking center stage, Turok: Origins is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing action titles scheduled for release later this year.
Turok: Origins is currently set to launch in Fall 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. As usual, our comparator offers you the best deals for Turok: Origins on your platform of choice.
