Total War: Warhammer III reveals Grand Cathay

In Total War: Warhammer III, the conflict between Order and Chaos will move to quite a different scenario. The Old World will be left behind, and the Realm of Chaos will be where the ultimate battle against the four evil gods and their armies of demons will occur. The game will add two new human factions that will try to resist the corruption of the Ruinous Powers. We already had a chance of watching the armies of Kislev in action in a previous Total War: Warhammer III video. With its polar bears and its stalwart troops, these fierce warriors will fight with all their hearts against hordes of demons. A new video published by Creative Assembly puts Grand Cathay in the spotlight, and the eastern realm also boasts a superior military force that will hold its ground when facing the relentless attack of otherworldly demons.

Grand Cathay makes its triumphal debut in Warhammer with this video. The mighty eastern faction will be available for the first time to Warhammer fans in this game. Grand Cathay troops are focused on defense, using plenty of artillery and ranged firepower to weaken their enemies before engaging them in melee combat. Heavily armored troops and gigantic terracotta warriors shape a solid defensive line that will be hard to break. With Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon, commanding the armies of the Great Bastion, it will be pretty challenging to achieve a victory against Grand Cathay. It is yet to be determined if the armies from the Western Provinces, ruled by Zhao Ming, the Iron Dragon, will feature different troops, but we should have more information about that in the near future.

The entrance of the four Chaos Gods and their hordes of demons in our world will drastically change the theatre of war in Total War: Warhammer III. The hordes of savage barbarians of the north were the main threat in Total War: Warhammer, and a powerful magic vortex focused all the attention of the warring factions in Total War: Warhammer II, but that didn't stop the different factions from engaging in a ferocious war for domination. It's unlikely that they will form an alliance to fight against Chaos under the new circumstances. Therefore, the political scenario in Total War: Warhammer III will prove more complicated than ever if the new factions are part of the Mortal Empires campaign, which features all the factions present in the previous games fighting for supremacy on a huge map.
