The Invincible is set to release in 2023, but players can preview it in LudoNarraCon

In 2021, Polish development studio Starward Industries unveiled the first teaser trailer for their single-player sci-fi retro-future thriller, The Invincible, inspired by the best-selling novel from the brilliant science fiction author Stanisław Lem. Starward Industries is a new independent game development studio, but they are backed by publisher 11 bit studios, who developed This War of Mine, Frostpunk, and the future release Frostpunk 2.

Like most teaser trailers, nothing of great importance was disclosed. However, recently the 11 bit studios and the dev team at Starward Industries have decided to allow players to discover The Invincible—a narrative hard science fiction adventure that will be coming to PC and current-gen consoles later this year—for themselves with an all-new demo.

LudoNarraCon is Steam's festival for digital narrative games. The 2023 edition will celebrate several games, such as Citizen Sleeper, Roadwarden, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, and of course, the one in question, The Invincible.

The Invincible is set in a distant galaxy on the mysterious planet Regis III. Players will land on the planet as Yasna, a highly qualified astrobiologist, sent on a scientific mission to study the uncharted, eerie world. While things may look serene at first glance, don't let the idyllic vistas fog your senses. Things can quickly get out of hand, and Yasna will be forced to reflect that not everything everywhere is for us and that the human species is not necessarily the pinnacle of evolution.

The story takes place in an alternative retro-future timeline, where digital technology has not been invented. Although humanity uses analog technology, it has conquered vast amounts of planets and ventured into many other galaxies thanks to it. The Invincible puts the player in a first-person perspective and leads you to interact with robots, people, and other creatures on Regis III. The player can employ various tools, such as a telemeter or a tracker, and drive a vehicle through a stunning landscape. Discover fragments of what's lost and report to your Astrogator; let his voice aid you in hard times.

To those interested in narrative-driven gameplay, The Invincible is a must-buy. The game doesn't have a set release date for now, but its timeframe is 2023.
