RimWorld releases on consoles next month

After colonizing the vast PC fields with its sci-fi colony simulator RimWorld, developer Ludeon Studios is looking for greener pastures on other platforms. The game has been a success for several years, thanks to its story-driven gameplay and deep simulation mechanics. RimWorld allows you to immerse in a massive experience that requires you to keep track of many variables, including weather, psychology, ecology, diplomacy, personal relationships, and more, but it manages to do it without being overwhelming or stressful. Simple graphics and exciting combat are the icing on the cake to make the game a hit that will be available on platforms other than PC very soon.

Rumors about an upcoming console version have been up for a while, but now we have the official confirmation: RimWorld is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The console version will release on July 29, 2022, as confirmed in a post on the PlayStation Blog that also shares additional details. Although optimizing the game and adapting the interface and controls for a good experience on consoles has been quite a challenge, it seems that the developers have managed to achieve quite a successful result that will not dwindle the excitement of the PC version at all. 

The release of RimWorld Console Edition will be accompanied by a new Digital Deluxe Edition of the game for those looking for a bigger package. It will include three days of early access and the Royalty DLC, which adds new technologies, royal titles, psychic powers, music, and more to make the simulation experience even more enjoyable.
