NVIDIA unveils DLSS 4.5 SDK featuring Dynamic Multi Frame Generation
Last month, Nvidia rolled out Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and a 6X Multi Frame Generation mode through a beta update in its app. Now, the company has followed that up with the official release of the DLSS 4.5 Streamline SDK, giving developers direct access to its latest advancements in resolution scaling and frame generation.
This updated toolkit is part of Nvidia’s broader push into neural rendering, enabling developers to integrate second-generation transformer-based AI models. These include features like ray reconstruction, super resolution, and dynamic multi-frame generation. The SDK also comes with refreshed APIs, documentation, sample code, and various bug fixes to streamline implementation.
One of the key highlights is Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, which behaves like an adaptive system that adjusts in real time. During graphically demanding scenes, it increases the number of AI-generated frames to maintain smooth performance, then scales back when the workload is lighter to preserve efficiency. This results in more stable gameplay, especially on high refresh rate displays.
Alongside that, the 6X Multi Frame Generation mode significantly boosts performance by generating up to five additional frames for every single rendered frame. This can dramatically increase frame rates in demanding scenarios while still aiming to keep latency and responsiveness in check.
DLSS 4.5 features are already accessible in many games through Nvidia’s DLSS Override tool within the Nvidia App. However, with the release of this SDK, developers can now integrate the technology natively into their games. This likely means we’ll see updates bringing DLSS 4.5 support to existing titles, as well as full implementation in upcoming releases.
The SDK is built on Nvidia’s Streamline framework, which allows developers to integrate multiple upscaling technologies through a single interface. This simplifies development and helps studios optimize performance earlier in the process instead of relying on post-launch patches.
In addition, Nvidia has confirmed DLSS support for several titles, including Pragmata, Atomic Heart, Sudden Strike 5, and Marvel Rivals. The company also announced an advanced particle VFX system for its RTX Remix platform, expanding on features first introduced during GDC 2026.
