Classic tales have always been a great source of inspiration for video games. The old stories from our youth can become quite different when looked upon through a different prism, and Lies of P offers us that exactly. The story of Pinocchio has always been a favorite of the fans, and one of the most popular classic fables thanks to Disney. But the tale about the wooden marionette that wants to become a human boy has been turned into an exciting action RPG that left no one indifferent when it was announced. Lies of P is a dark adventure set in a steampunk world that reminisces of titles like Dishonored, but that's not the only similarity we can find in the game.
A new Pinocchio
Developer Neowiz Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Lies of P. Apart from revealing some bits of Pinocchio's story, the video features footage of the protagonist fighting against several enemies. The souls-like combat mechanics in Lies of P and the oppressive environment reminisce of another cult game. We are talking about Bloodborne, of course. The Pinocchio in Lies of P is not a wooden puppet, and it looks more like a steampunk android capable of wielding a wide variety of menacing melee weapons and electrical powers to obliterate his enemies. This reimagination of the classic tale will dig deep into the darker bits of the original story and use that to offer a unique experience. Lies of P also innovates with its mechanics, allowing you to change parts of Pinocchio's body to grant him new skills. You can also combine weapons as you please to create new implements that you can use to destroy your foes.
