Hogwarts Legacy is the next Harry Potter game and it's coming in 2021

We have been waiting since 2018 but it has finally happened. Hogwarts Legacy has been announced on the occasion of the Playstation Showcase which was broadcasted live last night. If you are wondering why we are talking about 2018, the reason is that a video of an alleged Harry Potter RPG developed by Avalanche Software was leaked on the internet that year. Although nothing was confirmed at the time, the video was beautiful and looked very real. A certain Jason Schreier spoke then about the game that we can now call Hogwarts Legacy, giving creadibility to the rumor. We even told you about it in a previous article.

Anyway, Hogwarts Legacy was announced yesterday via a cinematic trailer and its release is scheduled for 2021 on current and new generation consoles, as well as on PC. The game is being developed by Avalanche Software and Portkey Games, a branch of Warner Bros. dedicated to developing licensed games.

Although the video that was revealed does not show any Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, we still have some information on what the game will offer. In terms of history, it takes place before the Harry Potter saga, at the end of the 19th century. We will play as a character who returns to Hogwarts and has the ability to master a very ancient form of magic. Hogwarts Legacy is presented as an open-world action-RPG, and we will obviously have the choice to use this unique gift to do good, or for dark purposes. We should be able to visit some well-known places of the saga, like Hogsmeade, but also new ones. Of course we will have at our disposal a wide range of magic in the form of spells, potions and more.

We can not wait to know more about Hogwarts Legacy PC which looks very promising and will certainly delight all fans of the Harry Potter saga. We will need to wait for a bit longe though, because it's scheduled for 2021.
