Halo Infinite will lack some features at launch

343 Industries seems to be as pressed on time as any other video game developer lately. The development of Halo Infinite is having its ups and downs, especially due to its coincidence in time with the pandemic. As a result of that, a year ago, we had to witness the announcement of a postponement. Now we hear that some of the features announced for the next installment in the popular sci-fi shooter series will not be available in the release version of the game. Halo Infinite won't include campaign co-op or Forge mode at launch.

The announcement was made during Halo Infinite developer update on YouTube last Friday, and it came as a massive disappointment for all the fans. Developer 343 Industries leaves it very clear in the video below:

"Our number one priority is making sure that whatever we ship, whenever we ship it, it meets the right quality bar across all platforms. And when we looked at these two experiences, campaign co-op and Forge, we made the determination they're just not ready. And as a studio we don't want to ship things if they're not ready."

If you were expecting to play Halo Infinite campaign with friends, you would have to wait until the Season 2 of the game is available post-launch. Suppose creating your own experience is your thing, and you were dreaming of editing multiplayer maps in the game. In that case, it won't be possible until Season 3 arrives, months after the release of Halo Infinite.

But it's not all bad news. The launch of Halo Infinite won't suffer any more delays, and it's coming this year. According to the developer, we should even have a release date very soon, so you will probably be able to play the game this Christmas, including its free-to-play multiplayer.
