Halo Infinite's free multiplayer will bring many surprises
Halo is one of the flagship franchises from Microsoft. The series became a favorite of Xbox players as soon as the first game was released. Quite a few years and installments later, there is a huge community that has enjoyed the adventures of the Master Chief on PC too, thanks to the launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which includes the remastered version of all the classics. But developer 343 Industries has more things prepared for the fans, and the release of Halo Infinite later this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC will bring significant changes to the franchise, especially when it comes to multiplayer.
Halo Infinite will bring back the Master Chief, this time embarked in an adventure that will reveal the fate of Cortana. You can expect all the features that have made previous installments in the series so popular as well as a few novelties in the new game, but the most significant one is related to multiplayer. Halo Infinite will include a multiplayer mode that will be free to play for the first time in the series. It was presented during E3 2021 with a couple of videos that allow us to discover plenty of its features.
As you can see in the video, Halo Infinite multiplayer will be full of exciting changes, like a new approach to equipment and vehicles in the game, plenty of customization options for your Spartan, Personal AIs, and a Battle Pass that will give you the freedom to choose the way in which you unlock its rewards. There's even an Academy area with various difficulty levels that you can visit to train against bots.
In most cases, free-to-play means loot boxes and randomized content but 343 Industries has already stated that Halo Infinite will be free of these.
"There will be no loot boxes or elements of chance if you decide to purchase an optional customization item. And, of course, all of Halo Infinite’s Spartan customization elements are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay.”
Halo Infinite will be available this holiday on PC and Microsoft's consoles with crossplay and cross-progression.
