Halo Infinite's Battle Royale rumor seems to be unfounded

A few days ago we wake up hearing about a rumor that left many fans of the Halo series wondering. Developer 343 Industries has not been very informative about Halo Infinite or its release date. That fact, combined with the huge popularity of the series paves the road for the apparition of such kinds of rumors. According to it, Halo Infinite would get a battle royale mode, free for all players, when it's released next year. The matter was brought up on Reddit a few weeks ago but it has recently surfaced. This time 343 Industries has decided to react to the rumor, and Halo community manager Brian Jarrad has done it via Twitter. He claims that such a rumor is "unfounded" and confirms that they will be pulling out an update about the game this month.

Nothing gets a post-holiday Monday going like fresh unfounded Halo Infinite rumors.

Btw yes I’m aware we could help solve this with real news. We certainly have some things we’re overdue on and eager to talk more about. We’re in the process of pulling together a year-end update.

It's quite noteworthy that even if the rumor is truly unfounded, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's not true. Halo Infinite would be a good candidate for a battle royale mode, and it wouldn't be strange for it to become true if you consider that it is a feature that has been added to pretty much each shooting video game that has been released after the huge success of Fortnite. Anyway, if they really want to prevent speculation about Halo Infinite, the studio should definitely be more communicative about the game, whose launch has been delayed already, making the fans of the series even more eager to know about it.

If you count yourself among those fans, you will have to make do with the games in Halo: The Master Chief Collection until Halo Infinite is released at some point in 2021. Playing the old games with enhanced graphics and some brand new features doesn't really sound that bad and you can do it on PC now too.
