Epic Games Store offers tower defense game Legion TD 2 for free

The Epic Games Store has just updated its weekly giveaway selection. The previous offer of the Civilization VI Platinum Edition has now ended, and in its place, the store is featuring the classic wave defense game Legion TD 2. As usual, you have a week to claim this new game and add it permanently to your Epic Games Store PC library.

This title presents a tower defense gameplay experience that incorporates some auto battle elements. The core objective is to protect your king from incoming waves of enemies. To assist in this, you can assemble an army from over 100 unique fighters available, each providing their own benefits and characteristics. The developers claim there are over 12 million combinations possible for creating armies.

There are even mercenary attacks that can be triggered if the assaults become overwhelming. In addition to single-player mode, the game offers cooperative and competitive options, with online matchmaking for up to eight players.

This title began as a mod for Warcraft 3, standing out as one of the most popular user-generated game modes for the iconic strategy game alongside major titles like the Defense of the Ancients mod. This standalone version first became available in early access in 2017, with a full release following in 2021. The successful game continues to receive updates from its developer, AutoAttack Games.

The giveaway for Legion TD 2 on the Epic Games Store is currently active and will run until July 31. Typically priced at $24.99, the game is free to claim during this promotional period. Another PC game will be offered as the next freebie when this one concludes.
