Epic Games Store's first giveaway title of July has been announced

For those who don’t already know, every Thursday, Epic Games makes a new game, or sometimes, two games are available for gamers to download and add to their libraries for free. Whatever you’ve redeemed is then yours to keep, to play or to add to an ever-growing list of games you mean to play but probably never will. This time, PC gamers can claim a copy of Sunless Skies: Sovereign Edition to keep for free forever, with the promotion running for the next seven days.

Sunless Skies: Sovereign Edition is the complete and definitive version of Sunless Skies. It incorporates the many additions made since launch – including new officers, enemies, engines, stories, and mascots, as well as a completely reworked region, a full steam mode for long journeys and desperate escapes, and the much-requested horn – as well as dozens of quality of life improvements.

This title tasks players with captaining a fantastical locomotive as they explore a vast and perilous world beneath a dying sun. Players will craft their own story, face challenging decisions, and navigate a hauntingly beautiful landscape filled with danger. Hostiles include everything from rival ships and pirates to monsters. But there is a ship management aspect too, where crew morale, captain nightmares, and even things like fuel and supplies being things to worry about while exploring this gothic horror universe.

This is the same developer behind the 2015-released entry Sunless Sea. Despite being a sequel, the two games are not connected and new players can jump into the fresh entry without any prior knowledge.
