Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has reached a new commercial milestone, surpassing two million copies sold worldwide following the recent release of its PC version. The milestone reflects a notable boost driven by the game’s expansion beyond its original PlayStation audience.

Very good start on PC

The PC port made an immediate impact, moving close to half a million units within its first week on the platform. This rapid uptake significantly contributed to the game's overall performance, pushing total sales past the two million threshold when combined with its earlier success on PlayStation 5.

Originally launched as a console exclusive, the sequel spent several months building momentum before arriving on PC. The relatively short gap of less than a year between releases appears to have worked in the game's favor, allowing it to maintain visibility and capture a broader audience without losing post-launch momentum.

Industry observers note that the PC launch also had a secondary effect: renewed interest in the game on consoles. Increased media coverage and promotional activity surrounding the new release window encouraged additional PlayStation purchases, suggesting a crossover benefit between platforms.
