Capcom shows Resident Evil 4 remake gameplay

The new Resident Evil 4 remake was the star of yesterday's showcase organized by Capcom. The event brought many details about the upcoming games in the franchise, including Resident Evil RE:Verse but there was a lot of expectation regarding the new take on what's considered the worse game in the whole series. The original Resident Evil 4 was too much of a zombie shooter and disappointed many fans who considered that Capcom needed to go back to the origins of the series, deeply rooted in survival and horror. 

The remake of Resident Evil 4 comes as a great opportunity for redemption for the Japanese developer. While the new game will respect the original story, it will bring significant changes when it comes to the atmosphere, the immersion level, and, of course, the graphics. The showcase revealed a few minutes of gameplay full of action that may still feel a bit too much like the original for many players, but Capcom has introduced new mechanics that contribute to making the remake a bit more exciting.

The different special editions of the Resident Evil 4 remake were also revealed. The release of the game is scheduled for March 24, 2023, on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, additional costumes, weapons, an extra soundtrack, a sunglasses accessory, and a treasure map. The Collector's Edition is physical-only and it includes all the elements in the Deluxe Edition plus the digital soundtrack, an art book, a poster, a Leon figurine, and several other goods. 

More Resident Evil

The new Resident Evil 4 wasn´t the only game present in yesterday's showcase. We could also watch some Resident Evil Village footage. It was mainly focused on its expansion and the new third-person mode. Also, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil RE: Verse is launching in a few days and that it will feature crossplay multiplayer. Those that own Resident Evil Village can enjoy early access to the game and give it a try from October 23 to October 25.
