June is the month of video game announcements despite the cancelation of this year's E3. Plenty of video game developers and publishers are hosting their own digital events to present and reveal the latest updates on their upcoming games. As one of the most important and long-lived companies in the sector, Capcom couldn't be any less, and its showcase event took place yesterday. The livestream showed some of the new games that the Japanese company will launch in the upcoming months, like Exoprimal, but a great segment was dedicated to one of Capcom's flagships: the Resident Evil series.

A new look at Resident Evil 4 Remake
Capcom surprised us very recently with the announcement of Resident Evil 4 Remake, a reimagination of the original game from 2005. Leon S. Kenedy will be traveling to Spain once more in order to rescue the U.S. President's daughter from the hands of a mysterious cult. The new game offers a darker and gloomier environment than its predecessor and focuses more on delivering an exciting survival horror experience. Completely changing the game seems to be the best approach for a title whose source of inspiration never convinced the fans. Resident Evil 4 Remake will launch on March 24th, 2023, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Resident Evil Village is getting a DLC
The fans of Lady Dimitrescu will be happy to know that the latest installment in the survival horror series is getting an expansion on October 28th, 2022. The Winter's Expansion will bring a new storyline, Shadows of Rose, which is focused on Ethan's daughter 16 years after the events in Resident Evil Village.
"Rosemary Winters, Ethan's beloved daughter, has grown up and is now struggling with terrifying powers. In search of a way to break free from her curse, Rose enters the consciousness of the Megamycete."
"Rose's journey takes her to a mysterious realm where memories of the past return to create a warped and twisted world of nightmares."
As a bonus, the expansion will also allow players to play the game from a third-person perspective, and it will also bring new characters and stages for the Mercenaries mode, including Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Alcina Dimitrescu.
Resident Evil Re: Verse is finally launching this year
After many delays and a lot of uncertainty, Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer experience inspired by the series, will launch on October 28th, 2022. Next-gen update for older Resident Evil titles
Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 now have versions specially tailored for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. If you own these games already, you can upgrade them to the new versions for free on the respective platform via the digital upgrade program and Smart Delivery.
