Watch Fallout 76's Wastelanders update launch trailer

Although it was originally scheduled for a release on April 7th, the highly anticipated Wasterlanders update for Fallout 76 won´t be available until April 14th. Despite the postponement, a lot of players are eagerly awaiting its launch, pretty much because it will completely change the way of playing Fallout 76 by making it more similar to previous installments in the Fallout series. It will add fully voiced human NPCs as well as a new storyline that involves new factions, locations, enemy types, and even a reputation system. You can watch some of those novelties in Wastelanders' launch trailer, which Bethesda has just published ahead of the release of what will be the most important Fallout 76 update.

The story of Wastelanders revolves around a treasure that is hidden in the Appalachia. It's what has caused two factions to move into the region and you will get involved with them for fun and profit one way or another. Whether you deal with settlers or bloodthirsty raiders you will have a lot of missions to complete, and they will yield juicy rewards. It's not that the Scorched plague has disappeared and you will still have to be wary of the Hivemind but at least you will be getting extra rewards for doing so.

With the release of Wastelanders, Western Virginia will never be the same, and you can expect that the new content will drive players away from the battle royale Nuclear Winter mode, at least for a while. We hope that it will contribute to making Fallout 76 a bit better so it can finally reach a good spot among the best games in the series.

The launch of the Wastelanders update will coincide with the release of Fallout 76 on Steam, so it's quite likely that there will also be an increase in the number of players. Remember that if you own a Bethesda.net version of the game you can get a free copy on Steam if you link your accounts before next Monday.
