Minecraft Dungeons gets a release date

Minecraft has been entertaining players for quite a while with its almost endless possibilities that let you create an unending number of worlds that allow for plenty of different gameplay options. We have seen universes from other video games recreated in Minecraft too but now the developers at Mojang studio are going to experiment with a different genre. Minecraft Dungeons is an adventure where we players will become heroes that fight against endless waves of monsters while they explore uncharted lands looking for treasures, solving puzzles and having fun.

Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon crawler where you choose a hero and proceed to navigate through procedurally generated maps, fighting monsters, gathering loot and uncovering secrets as you progress through different levels. You will take on a mission to get rid of the evil Arch-Illager, a dangerous villain whose plans are threatening the world.  It's an action-adventure game where the heroes use melee swings, ranged attacks and magic to defeat a variety of monsters. In Minecraft Dungeons, you will be able to equip your character with different weapons and armor and unlock unique items and weapon enchantments to obliterate your foes. There are no classes and the way your character performs in combat is exclusively dependant on your gameplay style and the equipment you are using at any given time.

Despite being a Minecraft game, Minecraft Dungeons does not include any form of construction or crafting mechanics, and it's a completely different type of game in the license. It features multiplayer local and online gameplay for up to four players.

The launch of Minecraft Dungeons was originally scheduled for the end of April, but as a result of the current crisis, it will finally be available on May 26th for PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
