Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon will have a sequel

Considering the quality of the graphics of the video games that are being developed today, it's quite surprising that there are a lot of people interested in playing games with a retro visual style. When the Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon was launched nobody expected it to be such a huge success as it was, but the result of it was a great 2D side-scrolling platform game that reminisces of some of the best classic games in the genre. Series like Castlevania or classic arcade games like Black Tiger come to your mind when you play the game, but Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon adds several interesting features that make its gameplay quite appealing. The possibility of befriending other characters, each of them with different powers and abilities, so they accompany the protagonist in his epic mission to slay the archdemon Gregory, opens up a lot of tactical possibilities, making Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon a true jewel of the genre.

If you loved Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, you will be glad to know that the game is getting a sequel that will continue the story of Zangetsu in his fight against the demons. The game was announced yesterday during the New Game+ Expo livestream, and producer Koji Igarashi revealed that Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is now in development.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will follow the steps of its predecessor and it will share the same dark 8-bit aesthetics but it will also introduce some novelties. This time Zangetsu will be able to enlist the help of several new characters, including the spear-wielding exorcist Dominique, Robert, who is a deadly sharpshooter with access to a wide range of firearms, and Hachi, who is a massive steam-powered golem able to pummel enemies to death.

No release date for Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 has been announced yet, but the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC soon. Therefore, you still have time to play Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and hone your skills a bit before the new game is released.
